The Seven Sisters The Pleiades (M45) is an open star cluster in the constellation Taurus. This star cluster is located about 444 light years from earth. The cluster is made up mostly of very hot blue stars, and it is passing through a dust cloud, which makes the reflection nebula we see.
This photo was taken with an 80mm refractor with a 0.8x reducer, and a ZWO AS183MC camera and consists of 5hrs of integration time. Taken in Bortle 2 skies.
This was a real bear to edit, because this telescope doesn't do well with bright blue stars. Unless you like magenta stars. I was going for more dust around the reflection nebula, but this was what I was able to pull out of the data. It was stacked and edited in Pixinsight.
