The Santa Clara County Bench and Bar Historical Society (SCCBBHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of the legal profession in Santa Clara County, California. Founded in 1982, the SCCBBHS strives to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of the legal system and its practitioners.

The SCCBBHS works closely with the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the Santa Clara County Superior Court, and the Santa Clara County Historical and Genealogical Society to further their mission. Through their many activities, the SCCBBHS seeks to promote knowledge of the legal profession’s rich history and traditions.

The SCCBBHS also collects and preserves materials related to the legal profession in Santa Clara County, including documents, photographs, artifacts, and other memorabilia. These materials are made available to the public through the SCCBBHS’s online library catalog and through their physical library located in downtown San Jose.

In addition to its library, the SCCBBHS offers educational programs, workshops, and events. These activities are designed to bring together legal professionals, members of the community, and other interested parties to learn more about the history of the legal profession and to foster a greater appreciation of its importance.

The SCCBBHS also works to recognize and honor those who have made significant contributions to the legal profession in Santa Clara County. Through their awards and recognition program, the SCCBBHS recognizes outstanding attorneys, judges, and other legal professionals for their service to the community.

The SCCBBHS is committed to preserving the legal heritage of Santa Clara County and ensuring that its history remains accessible to the public. Through their many activities and programs, the SCCBBHS seeks to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of our legal system and its practitioners.
