Savannah Sparrow in Virginia Although these sparrows are found throughout North America, I seldom see them in the Shenandoah Valley. Although the background elements in the image are a bit distracting, they suggest the edges of farm fields which are one of the places the birds can be found. I also liked the way the bird's claws echoed the shape of the barbed wire.
