Knight Foundry is a historic foundry located in Sutter Creek, California. Built in 1873, it is the oldest operational water-powered foundry in the United States. Knight Foundry was founded by James Marshall Knight, a native of Michigan who moved to California to pursue his dream of creating a foundry. The foundry was powered by a water turbine and was used to cast iron and steel products, from decorative architectural pieces to farm tools.

The foundry is a two-story building with sandstone walls and a wood-frame roof. The first floor is dominated by the casting room, where molten metal was poured into molds. The second floor houses the machine shop, where Knight crafted the machine parts and tools that were used in his foundry. The foundry also contains several other components, including a shaper, planer, drill press, and a forge.

Today, Knight Foundry is a museum and educational center, offering tours and demonstrations of its unique equipment. Visitors can take a tour of the foundry to learn about the history of the foundry and the products that were produced there. The foundry is also home to a number of special events, such as blacksmithing classes and art shows. Knight Foundry is a National Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
