The Wylie Historical Society is a non-profit organization based in Wylie, Texas that is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the city and its surrounding areas. Founded in 1976, the Society is run by volunteers who are passionate about local history and strive to share their knowledge with the community.

The Society operates the Wylie Historical Museum, which features exhibits and displays focused on the history of Wylie and its residents. The museum is housed in a restored historic building that was once the First Baptist Church of Wylie. The Society also maintains a collection of historical artifacts, documents, and photographs that are available for research and study.

In addition to preserving local history, the Wylie Historical Society organizes events and activities throughout the year that celebrate the city's heritage. These include historic home tours, cemetery walks, and living history demonstrations. The Society also offers educational programs for schools and community groups.

Membership in the Wylie Historical Society is open to anyone who has an interest in local history. Members receive a newsletter and invitations to Society events, as well as the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping to preserve an important part of Wylie's past for future generations.

CHains 17 April 2024 108 of 366 I enjoy disc golf for many reasons, but among the top of the list are scenes like this one. Unfortunately the thick grass was not cooperating with my game, stopping discs in their tracks. Basket 15 at Towne Lake Disc Golf Course.
Water Moccasin (1) While in the Dallas area we visited a couple of parks. Didn't see a ton of wildlife but did come across this Water Moccasin hanging out right next to the boardwalk at the Heard Museum. I'm not sure why the head was so white like this.
