U.S. Post Office (Milan, Tennessee) Historic 1936 U.S. Post Office in Milan, Tennessee.  Unlike many of the area post offices of the time, this building was designed in a Renaissance Revival style instead of the typical Colonial Revival style.  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 (NRHP No. 87001169).

The Carroll County Historical Society, located in McKenzie, TN, is dedicated to preserving the county’s rich history and heritage. Founded in 1976, the Society is a non-profit organization that collects and preserves artifacts, documents, photographs, and other materials that tell the stories of Carroll County’s past.

The Society also hosts a number of educational and interactive activities throughout the year, such as lectures and workshops, and offers educational resources to the public. The Society’s museum features exhibits that explore the history of the county and its people, from the Native Americans who first inhabited the area to the Civil War and beyond. Visitors to the museum can explore a variety of artifacts and exhibits, as well as participate in activities like scavenger hunts and educational tours.

The Society also works to preserve and protect some of the county’s historic buildings, such as the Grove Theatre, the A.R. Moore Memorial Building, and the McKenzie Historic District. The Society also provides grants to help preserve and restore historic buildings and sites throughout the county.
