Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians (GSCSA) is a non-profit organization located in Knoxville, TN. It was established in 2008 as a result of a merger between three councils: Great Smoky Mountain, Tanasi, and Sequoyah. The council serves approximately 14,000 girls and 5,000 adult volunteers across 46 counties in Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina.

GSCSA aims to empower girls to become confident and capable leaders through various programs and activities. The council offers a range of programs, including outdoor adventures, STEM activities, community service projects, and leadership development opportunities. They also operate seven day and resident camps throughout the year.

In addition to serving girls, GSCSA also provides resources and support for adult volunteers, who play a vital role in the Girl Scout experience. The council offers training, resources, and networking opportunities to help volunteers effectively lead and mentor girls.

GSCSA is a member of Girl Scouts of the USA, the preeminent organization for girls with a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. The council is governed by a board of directors, led by a CEO, and employs a staff of approximately 60 individuals.
