The Forest County Historical Society in Tionesta, PA, is dedicated to the preservation, research, and presentation of the history and culture of Forest County, Pennsylvania. Established in 1947, the Society operates the Forest County History Center and Museum located in the original Tionesta Train Station. The Society's museum houses over 3,000 artifacts illustrating the history of the county. The exhibits include Native American artifacts, period clothing and furniture, agricultural and industrial equipment, a replica one-room schoolhouse, and a vast collection of photographs and documents.

The History Center and Museum also features a research library with a vast collection of books and documents related to the history of the region, including genealogy records, local church records, and county and family histories. The library also houses a collection of maps and aerial photographs, as well as an extensive newspaper collection.

In addition to its museum and library, the Society offers a number of educational programs and special events, including lectures, field trips, and living history programs. The Society also works to preserve local historic sites and to promote public awareness of Forest County history. The Society's mission is to collect, preserve, interpret, and disseminate the history and culture of Forest County, Pennsylvania.
