The Paoli Battlefield Preservation Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the historic Paoli Battlefield located in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The Trust was formed in 1986 by a group of local citizens who had a shared interest in the preservation of the site.
The Paoli Battlefield is the site of a Revolutionary War battle that took place in 1777. The Battle of Paoli, sometimes referred to as the Paoli Massacre, was a surprise attack by British troops against a colonial encampment. The battle resulted in the death of approximately 60 American soldiers and the wounding of many more.
The Trust works to preserve and protect the battlefield and to educate the public about its historical significance. They are dedicated to maintaining the battlefield as a sacred space and to preserving the environment as closely as possible to the condition it was in during the battle. The Trust hosts a variety of events at the site, including educational programs, re-enactments, special events, and a memorial service held annually to commemorate the fallen. They also maintain the graveyard on the site, which contains the graves of many of the soldiers who perished in the battle.
The Trust is committed to preserving the legacy of the battlefield and honoring the lives of those who fought and died there. Through its efforts, the Trust has ensured that the Paoli Battlefield will remain a part of American history for generations to come.
