Solar Eclipse 2017 - Beginning to End I really had doubts that this one was going to work out! The forecast was calling for a 60% chance of thunderstorms in Lancaster, PA. I had some trouble with thick clouds in the beginning but in the end - it all worked out. Each photo was made with a Canon 70D and a Canon 17-40 mm f/4L lens @ 36 mm. Friends of the Railroad Museum (FRRM) in Strasburg PA was established in 1982 with a mission to preserve, protect, and promote the rich heritage of railroading in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The museum is dedicated to the preservation of the history of railroading and the artifacts of the Pennsylvania Railroad and its successors.

The museum is home to several historic locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars, and other railroad artifacts, providing a unique experience for visitors of all ages. The museum also offers a variety of special events throughout the year, including train rides, model railroad shows, and educational programs.

FRRM is also committed to education and outreach, providing educational programs to schools and other youth groups. They also offer an annual summer camp for children ages 6 to 12, which provides an opportunity for them to learn about railroad history and operations.

The museum is located in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, just over two miles from downtown Lancaster. It is open to the public on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, from 10 AM to 3 PM. FRRM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

A bright meteor along with the full &quot;flower&quot; moon are seen illuminating the Lancaster, PA countryside. The image was made of 415 twenty second exposures (about 2.5 hours). Each image was taken with a Canon T2i (f/5.0 with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens @ 14 mm / ISO 400) and stacked using StarStax. This must have been some meteor! I unfortunately must have been looking away but at least it was captured in the image.

The Fog Bank across the Stream A fog bank is seen engulfing a flowing stream in Lancaster, PA. Two stop (-2, 0, +2) HDR processing was done using Photomatix and light processing in Photoshop Elements. I originally wanted to photograph the thin crescent moon and Venus pairing; however, the clouds and fog had other plans! Despite missing the moon, I really like the way the photo turned out. Venus can be seen to the left of the tree in the middle of the photograph.
