Built in 1825, the Federal-style stone house was designed by influential architect John Chislett Sr. for his son John Chislett Jr. and his wife, Rebecca Bradford Chislett. The home is considered one of the most important examples of Federal architecture in the region, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
