The Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary was a commemorative event held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The event took place from January 17 to April 30, 2006, and attracted visitors from all over the world.

The Tercentenary featured a variety of events and exhibits, including a major exhibition at the National Constitution Center that explored Franklin's life and legacy, a series of lectures and panel discussions, and a parade that included a giant puppet of Franklin himself.

One of the highlights of the Tercentenary was the Franklinia Festival, a nine-day celebration that took place in the historic district of Philadelphia. The festival featured live music, street performers, food vendors, and historical reenactors dressed in period costumes. Visitors could also tour Franklin's former home, the Benjamin Franklin House, which had been restored and reopened to the public in honor of the Tercentenary.

Throughout the event, Philadelphia was abuzz with excitement and pride as the city paid tribute to one of its most famous sons. From the Franklinia Festival to the exhibits at the National Constitution Center, the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary was a fitting tribute to one of America's most influential thinkers and statesmen.
