MASLOW COLLECTION

SCRANTON, PA

The Maslow Collection in Scranton, Pennsylvania is one of the largest collections of contemporary art in the region. The collection consists of more than 1,000 works of art from over 30 countries and includes sculptures, paintings, photography, video and installation pieces. The collection was assembled by philanthropist and art collector Stanley Maslow, who was born in Scranton in 1926.

The collection is housed in the historic Maslow mansion, which was built in 1920 and is located in the city’s Hill Section. The mansion was designed by renowned architect William P. Litwin and features an elaborate Italian-Renaissance style. The house has been restored and renovated to become the home of the museum.

The collection features works by renowned international artists such as Yoko Ono, Mark Rothko, Jasper Johns, and Andy Warhol, as well as works by local artists. The works date from the 1940s to the present day and the collection is constantly growing.

The Maslow Collection is open to the public for tours and educational programs. The museum also hosts special events throughout the year, including lectures, workshops, and exhibitions. The collection is also available for private tours and events, as well as for corporate events and gatherings.
