Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania is a 92-acre public garden located in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The arboretum was founded in 1887 by siblings John and Lydia Morris, who donated their summer home and surrounding grounds to the University of Pennsylvania for use as an arboretum.
Today, Morris Arboretum is home to more than 12,000 labeled plants from around the world, including rare and endangered species. Visitors can explore the arboretum's many gardens, including the Rose Garden, the Japanese Hill and Water Garden, and the Fernery. The arboretum also features a number of historic structures, including the Compton House, a 19th-century mansion that now serves as the arboretum's visitor center.
