St. Johns Bridge from US Highway 30, Linnton, Portland, OR Built in 1929-1931, this Gothic Revival-style suspension bridge was designed by David B. Steinman to carry the US Highway 30 Bypass across the Willamette River downstream of Downtown Portland.  The bridge carries a four-lane roadway through a series of steel trusses, and features two 400 foot (120 meter) tall steel towers with gothic arches, supporting cables that carry a central span of 1,207 feet (368 meters), with the bridge having an overall length of 2,067 feet (630 meters).  The bridge has become a significant landmark on Portland’s west side, and is the bridge with the most distinctive appearance in the city.

The Cameron Highlanders of the Northwest is a Scottish-American bagpipe and drum band based in Tualatin, Oregon. Founded in 1995, the band consists of approximately 25 members who perform traditional Scottish and Irish music at various events and competitions throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The band's uniform consists of a traditional Scottish kilt, jacket, and sporran, along with a feather bonnet and other accessories. They also carry Scottish military-style drums and bagpipes, which are played in unison to create a distinct sound.

The Cameron Highlanders of the Northwest have won numerous awards and accolades for their performances, including first place in the Grade 4 band competition at the Pacific Northwest Highland Games. They have also performed at various Scottish festivals and events, including the Portland Highland Games and the Oregon Scottish Festival.

In addition to their performances, the band is also involved in community outreach and education. They offer bagpipe and drum lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, and frequently participate in parades and other local events.
