The Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History in Roseburg, Oregon, is a great place to learn about the history and culture of the area. It is housed in a former church, built in the late 19th century. The museum features exhibits focusing on the history of the county, including Native American culture, the early pioneers, the logging and fishing industries, and the agricultural heritage of Douglas County.

The museum also includes a variety of natural history exhibits, such as a butterfly garden, a raptor center, a native plant garden, and a live reptile exhibit. The museum also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, such as lectures and workshops on history and natural history topics, as well as educational programs for school groups.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum is free, although there is a suggested donation. Visitors can also purchase souvenirs, such as postcards, books, and crafts, in the museum store.

After traffic was moved onto a single lane (right) of the new bridge at the end of February, contractors for the Oregon Department of Transportation spent the next three weeks building a second lane approaching each end of the bridge. Starting on Monday, March 25, prime contractor Farline Bridge Inc. will begin a two-week effort to pave the approaches, weather permitting. This will eventually require a one-day closure of Green Valley Road (left) at the Old Hwy 99 intersection.
