The Friends of the Rogerson Clematis Collection in Lake Oswego, Oregon is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, propagation and display of the Rogerson Clematis Collection. This collection was started by the late Dr. Gordon Rogerson in the late 1960s and consists of over 350 clematis species and varieties. The Friends of the Rogerson Clematis Collection maintain the clematis garden at the Rogerson-McLellan House in Lake Oswego, Oregon, where the collection is open to the public.
The Friends of the Rogerson Clematis Collection are committed to preserving and promoting the collection, as well as educating the public about clematis and their care. They work with local nurseries to provide the plants for sale, hold periodic workshops on clematis care and propagation, and provide assistance and advice to gardeners who are growing clematis in their home gardens.
In addition, the Friends of the Rogerson Clematis Collection host a yearly garden tour in the summer, giving visitors the chance to view the collection and learn more about the plants. The Friends also host lectures and classes on clematis and their care throughout the year.
The Friends of the Rogerson Clematis Collection work hard to make sure that the collection is maintained and that the clematis are propagated properly. Their goal is to ensure that the collection will be available for generations to come.
