The Black History Month Committee of Riverside (BHMC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Riverside, California. Founded in 1997, the BHMC has been dedicated to recognizing the contributions of African Americans to the history, culture, and development of the city of Riverside. It is the mission of the BHMC to promote and recognize the achievements of African Americans and to increase public awareness of the history and culture of African Americans in the city.

The BHMC's activities include the annual Black History Month Flag Raising Ceremony, where the city of Riverside recognizes the importance of African American History and Culture. The BHMC also sponsors a variety of educational and cultural events throughout the year such as lectures, film screenings, and book readings. Additionally, the BHMC sponsors the awarding of scholarships to senior high school students from Riverside.

The BHMC is supported by a board of directors and a staff of volunteers. The board members are all Riverside citizens who are dedicated to the mission of the BHMC. The staff includes a paid Executive Director, a Program Manager, and an Administrative Assistant, who help oversee the day to day operations of the organization.

Through its various activities, the BHMC strives to create a greater sense of understanding and appreciation of African American history and culture in the Riverside community. The BHMC is an important part of the Riverside community and continues to be a leader in promoting African American history and culture.

Perris / SoCal Rail Museum UP 2564 (# 0007) Originally built in 1921 for a Union Pacific subsidiary and traded UP subsidiary “Oregon Short Line” in 1923 where it was used until 1955. Retired in 1959 and wound up at this museum in 1997. KC-10A Extender Conceptualized as the next generation of aerial tankers the KC-l0 combined the tasks of a tanker and cargo aircraft. Carrying more than 356,000 pounds of fuel - twice as much as the KC-135 Stratotanker – 75 personnel, and 170,000 pounds of cargo, the KC-10 could transport entire units of support personnel while re-fueling their deploying fighters enroute. The KC-10 could also be used to transport litter and ambulatory patients using patient support pallets during aeromedical evacuations. Unlike previous re-fuelers, the KC-10's boom operator controls refueling operations through a digital, fly-by wire system. Sitting in the rear of the aircraft, the operator can see the receiver aircraft through a wide window. During boom refueling operations, fuel is transferred to the receiver at a maximum rate of 1,100 gallons per minute. The KC-10 fleet was used extensively during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991, Operation Allied Force in 1999 and during the War on Terror following the September 11, 2001, attack. The museum’s KC-10 Extender tail number 84-0185 was built in Long Beach California and delivered to the United Sates Air Force, March AFB in September 1984 with subsequent assignments to Travis AFB. It was flown to March Field Air Museum in 2023 for permanent display. It remains on loan from the NMUSAF. M3 lower control arms These were significantly lighter than the stock, steel versions. I bought them from a guy who'd purchased them years ago, but never used them. They were only a few dollars more than brand new steel units from a parts supplier, so I opted to get these. It's not like I needed light weight control arms, but for only a few bucks more, I thought, "why not?"
Front suspension disassembly What's missing? Chassis brace, subframe, lower control arms, exhaust, steering rack, and struts.
New cutches installed
Dirty diff Diff out of the car - this is just before the power washer came out (unfortunately, I forgot to take a pic of the cleaned diff, but you can see it in the final assembly pics.
