The Royal Presidio Chapel Foundation in Monterey, CA is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the historic Presidio Chapel. The Chapel, built in 1794 and located within the walls of the Presidio of Monterey, is the oldest stone building in the entire state of California and is the only remaining original building in the Presidio.

The mission of the Royal Presidio Chapel Foundation is to preserve, maintain, and restore the Chapel, as well as its grounds, to its original condition and to promote public education and understanding of its historical importance to the Monterey Bay area. The Foundation works with state and local agencies and organizations, including the State of California, the Monterey County Historical Society, the Monterey History and Art Association, and many others to ensure the Chapel receives proper preservation and care.

The Foundation offers a variety of programs and events, including lectures and workshops, historic walks, and guided tours of the Chapel. It also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, such as the annual Blessing of the Animals, the Presidio Chapel Symposium, and the Presidio Chapel Jazz Concerts.

The Royal Presidio Chapel Foundation is committed to the preservation of this important piece of California history and to educating the public about its significance. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving the Chapel's historical integrity and ensuring its lasting legacy.
