The Niles Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Niles, Ohio. Its mission is to preserve, promote, and share the history of Niles and the surrounding area. The society was founded in 1938 and has since grown to include over 300 members.

The society operates out of the Ward-Thomas House, a historic home built in 1862 that serves as the society's headquarters and museum. The house contains exhibits and artifacts that showcase the history of Niles, including displays on local industries, transportation, and notable residents.

6-20-23, Midland & Bluegrass GP9 222 Operated as Youngstown & Southeastern Railroad. GP9 222 was built 1/58 as Illinois Central GP9 9368. To Illinois Central Gulf 9005, Mid-South Railroad 9005 then to Indiana Boxcar 222. This Midland & Bluegrass train is hauling construction waste and a couple of covered hoppers south to the landfill in Signal, OH. Here the train is about to go under the South Ave. bridge in Youngstown, OH. The grade here is steep and the three Geeps are working hard. These tracks are the the former Youngstown & Southern which were trolley tracks back in the day.
