The farm grows 12 million cucumbers and tomatoes annually, shipping them nationwide to restaurants and suppliers. Here , the tomato plants are growing up lines to keep the fruit at an easy to harvest height. In 2023, Mucci Farms used a Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant to purchase energy efficient high pressure sodium and LED lights to provide the proper growing environment in the greenhouses. 20240925-USDA-RD-OH-MLM-0004 U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD) Ohio business program staff visited the Chef's Garden in Huron, Ohio, n September 25, 2024,. This 400-acre production farm near Lake Erie grows more than 800 varieties of fruits and vegetables year-round. In 2017 they received a Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant and purchased two biomass fueled boilers to heat a massive four-acre indoor greenhouse, making it a suitable climate for growing crops, even during northern Ohio's frigid winters. According to production manager, Zach Jones, the grant, "Has likely saved the farm several hundred thousand dollars over the life of the boilers." USDA media by Mark McCann.
