ART French Colony is a historic site located in Gallipolis, Ohio, that was established in the early 19th century by a group of French artists and intellectuals. The colony was founded in 1825 by a group of artists led by Charles-Alexandre Lesueur, who had previously served as the artist and naturalist on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The colony was intended to provide a refuge for French artists who were fleeing the political turmoil in Europe at the time.

The colony was located on a 59-acre tract of land overlooking the Ohio River and included a number of buildings, including a large communal house, individual artist studios, and a chapel. The artists who lived at the colony worked in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and printmaking, and were inspired by the natural beauty of the Ohio River Valley.

The colony was short-lived, however, and by the early 1830s, most of the artists had moved on to other locations. Today, the site is managed by the Ohio Historical Society and is open to the public for tours and educational programs. Visitors can explore the restored communal house and see examples of the artwork created by the colony's residents. The ART French Colony is a unique and important part of Ohio's cultural heritage and a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the history of American art.

Point Pleasant Post Office, Main Street, Point Pleasant, WV Built in 1911-1912, this Classical Revival-style building was designed by James Knox Taylor to serve as a post office for the city of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The building features a limestone exterior with a granite base, doric pilasters on the exterior facade, six-over-six double-hung windows on the first floor and casement windows on the second floor, a recessed front portico with four ionic columns and chandelier-style light fixtures, a cornice with dentils, and a low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet. The building is a contributing structure in the Point Pleasant Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and continues to function as a post office.
