The Gallia County Genealogical Society (OGS Chapter Inc.) is a non-profit organization located in Gallipolis, Ohio. The society was founded in 1980 and is dedicated to preserving and promoting genealogy and local history in Gallia County and surrounding areas. Point Pleasant Post Office, Main Street, Point Pleasant, WV Built in 1911-1912, this Classical Revival-style building was designed by James Knox Taylor to serve as a post office for the city of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The building features a limestone exterior with a granite base, doric pilasters on the exterior facade, six-over-six double-hung windows on the first floor and casement windows on the second floor, a recessed front portico with four ionic columns and chandelier-style light fixtures, a cornice with dentils, and a low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet. The building is a contributing structure in the Point Pleasant Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and continues to function as a post office.
Lowe Hotel (Spencer Hotel), Main Street, Point Pleasant, WV Built in 1901, this Renaissance Revival-style building was constructed to serve as the Spencer Hotel, later becoming known as the Lowe Motor Inn, and today, the Lowe Hotel.
