The Frankfort Area Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting the history of Frankfort, Ohio. Located in the heart of downtown Frankfort, the Society provides educational resources and programs to the community.

The Society was founded in 1972 with the mission of preserving the historic and cultural heritage of the Frankfort area. The Society operates the historic Robert M. and Mary E. Odell House, which serves as the Society’s headquarters and houses a museum, library and archives. The museum features artifacts, documents and photographs related to the history of Frankfort and the surrounding area. The library contains books, periodicals and other materials related to local history. The archives contain records and documents from the Frankfort area.

The Society also offers educational programs and activities to the public. Events such as lectures, walking tours, and workshops focus on local history and help to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the area’s past. The Society also sponsors special events throughout the year, including the annual Christmas Walk and the annual Car Show.

The Frankfort Area Historical Society Inc. is committed to educating the public about the history of Frankfort and preserving the area’s cultural heritage. By working to promote the area’s history and to preserve its unique past, the Society is ensuring future generations have access to the area’s rich history and culture.
