The Montgomery County Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Dayton, Ohio. Founded in 1896, the society is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Montgomery County through educational programs, exhibits, and community outreach efforts.

The society operates two historic sites: the Paul Laurence Dunbar House Historic Site and the Patterson Homestead. The house features a red brick exterior, an ornate bracketed cornice, a front-gable roof, one-over-one windows and fixed windows with decorative trim surrounds, and an arched recessed bay at the center of the front facade with chamfered corners, a second-story balcony with a wrought iron railing, oxeye windows, decorative trim at the top of the arch, and doorways with decorative trim surrounds. The house is a contributing structure in the Oregon Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Jackson Street, Oregon, Dayton, OH Built in 1875, this Italianate-style house features a red brick exterior, a rough-hewn stone base, one-over-one double-hung windows with arched upper sash and decorative window hoods, a gabled and hipped roof, a bracketed cornice, and an entrance porch with turned spindlework, turned columns, and a bonnet roof. The house is a contributing structure in the Oregon Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
