The Montgomery County Historical Society (MCHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Montgomery County, Alabama. Established in 1972, the organization is dedicated to researching, collecting, and preserving the history of the county for the benefit of the public.
MCHS's primary activities include collecting, preserving, and interpreting the county's historical artifacts, documents, photographs, and other materials. The society operates several museums and historic sites throughout Montgomery County, including the Heritage Museum, the First White House of the Confederacy, and the Alabama State Capitol.
