Grebes Horned Grebe - Podiceps auritus There were 200 plus at this site. A few were starting to do courtship dances. Some came close enough for me to hear their soft contact calls among each other. Pied-billed and Eared Grebe also in some frames.
STUMP DUMP This sign along U.S. Route 15/501 in Chatham County, North Carolina caught my eye. I have no idea what it means. There is not a pile of tree stumps beneath it.
