The Pea Island Preservation Society Inc. (PISP) is a non-profit organization based in Manteo, North Carolina. Founded in 1999, the PISP is dedicated to preserving and protecting the history and culture of the barrier island of Pea Island, as well as its unique environment.

The Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, located on the northernmost part of the island, is one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands in North Carolina. The refuge was established in 1938 and is home to a variety of wildlife, including the endangered piping plover, loggerhead sea turtles, and other shorebirds.

The PISP works to protect the refuge and its surrounding habitats by advocating for responsible development and providing educational opportunities to the public. It also works to ensure that the refuge remains free from pollution and other anthropogenic impacts.

The PISP organizes and participates in a variety of events and activities throughout the year, such as beach cleanups, educational lectures, and art shows. It also works to restore Pea Island's historical sites, such as the Pea Island Lifesaving Station and the Marconi Wireless Station.

Through its efforts, the PISP is helping to preserve the unique environment and history of Pea Island for future generations.
