The Gold Hill Historic Preservation Society Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting the history and heritage of the Gold Hill community in North Carolina. The Society was founded in 2001 to preserve the original buildings and structures of the historic Gold Hill Village, which was established in 1836.
The Society works to protect, promote and preserve the village's historic buildings, artifacts, and culture. The mission of the Society is to “preserve and protect the history and heritage of the Gold Hill area by collecting, preserving, interpreting and sharing its history, artifacts, and culture.”
The Society is actively involved in a number of programs and activities to achieve its mission. These include educational programs, historic tours, preservation projects, and fundraising activities. The Society also hosts events such as the Gold Hill Harvest Festival, the Gold Hill Antiques Show and the Gold Hill Historical Walking Tour.
In addition to its main mission, the Society is also involved in advocating for the preservation of the Gold Hill Historic District. The Society works with local and state agencies to protect the historic district from demolition and development.
The Society works collaboratively with the state, local governments, and other organizations to preserve the history and heritage of the Gold Hill community. The Society also works to educate the public on the importance of preserving the history and culture of Gold Hill.
