The Caldwell County Historical Society Inc. was founded in 1981 in Lenoir, North Carolina. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Caldwell County. The Society is composed of a membership of over 350 members who are interested in the history of the region.

The Society collects, preserves and exhibits artifacts, documents and photographs that pertain to the history of Caldwell County. They also sponsor a variety of educational programs and activities to promote an understanding and appreciation of the county's past. Their permanent exhibits include a military exhibit, a genealogy exhibit, a transportation exhibit and an industry exhibit.

The Society's volunteer staff and Board of Directors are committed to preserving and protecting the historical and cultural resources of Caldwell County. They partner with local libraries, museums and other organizations to promote and support their mission.

The Society is funded through membership dues, donations, grants, and fundraisers. They also host a variety of events throughout the year including monthly educational lectures, an annual historical fair and an annual gala.

The Caldwell County Historical Society Inc. is an important part of the local community, providing a wealth of information and resources to those interested in learning about the history of the area.
