Oysterponds Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Orient, New York. It was founded in 1944 with the aim of preserving and promoting the history of the Oysterponds area, which includes the villages of East Marion, Orient, and Greenport. The society's headquarters are located in the Old Point Schoolhouse, which was built in 1835 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The society has a collection of over 15,000 artifacts, including photographs, documents, maps, and objects related to the area's history. Some of the highlights of the collection include a 19th-century whaleboat, a 1928 Chevrolet truck, and a collection of over 3,000 glass plate negatives by local photographer George Bradford Brainerd.

In addition to preserving the area's history, the society also offers a variety of educational programs and events. These include lectures, walking tours, and workshops on topics such as local architecture, maritime history, and genealogy.

The society is run by a board of trustees and is supported by a membership of over 500 individuals and businesses. It is open to the public year-round, with hours varying depending on the season. Admission is free, although donations are appreciated.
