The Morris County Trust for Historic Preservation Inc. (MCTHP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and heritage of Morris County, New Jersey. Founded in 1969, MCTHP is the oldest non-profit preservation organization in Morris County. The mission of MCTHP is to identify, advocate for, and promote the preservation of Morris County’s historic buildings, sites, and landscapes. MCTHP works with local, state, and federal governments, as well as other organizations, to identify and preserve historic places in the county.
MCTHP works to protect the buildings and sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It also works to educate the public about the importance of historic preservation. The organization also identifies and promotes endangered historic buildings, sites, and landscapes throughout Morris County.
MCTHP offers a variety of educational programs and workshops to educate the public about local history, architecture, and historic preservation. The organization also hosts an annual conference with lectures, tours, and other activities. Additionally, MCTHP works to increase awareness of the importance of historic preservation through special events and publications.
MCTHP is an essential part of Morris County’s history and heritage. Through its efforts, MCTHP works to ensure that Morris County’s unique history is preserved and shared with future generations.
