The Schuyler-Hamilton House in Morristown, New Jersey is an important historic landmark that was built in the late 18th century. The house was originally constructed for Dr. John Cochran, who served as a surgeon in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. However, the house is most notable for its association with Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the United States.

Hamilton resided in the Schuyler-Hamilton House during the winter of 1779-1780, while he served as an aide-de-camp to General George Washington. During this time, Hamilton met and courted Elizabeth Schuyler, the daughter of General Philip Schuyler. Hamilton and Elizabeth eventually married, and the couple went on to have eight children.

Today, the Schuyler-Hamilton House is owned by the Morristown Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The DAR is a non-profit organization that promotes patriotism, education, and historic preservation. The Morristown Chapter of the DAR maintains the Schuyler-Hamilton House as a museum, which is open to the public for tours and special events.

Visitors to the Schuyler-Hamilton House can explore the historic rooms where Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler once lived, as well as exhibits that showcase the history of the American Revolution in New Jersey. The museum also hosts educational programs and events for school groups and other organizations throughout the year.
