The Pohatcong History & Heritage Society is a non-profit organization located in Alpha, New Jersey. It was founded in 1977 by a group of local residents who were interested in preserving the history and heritage of Pohatcong Township. The Society's mission is to promote and preserve the rich history of the area for future generations through educational programs, exhibits, and events.
The Society is housed in the historic Alpha Borough School, which was built in 1911 and served as a school until 1974. The building was then renovated and turned into a museum and community center.
