The Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail in Portsmouth, NH is a series of historical markers and landmarks that tell the story of African American life in the city from the 1600s to the present day. The trail is a self-guided walking tour that takes visitors through the city's historic neighborhoods, including Strawbery Banke and the South End.

The trail includes 24 sites, including the African Burying Ground Memorial Park, which honors the 13 enslaved Africans who were discovered during an archaeological dig in 2003, and the Portsmouth Academy, which was the first school in New Hampshire to admit African American students.

Other sites on the trail include the home of William Pierce, an influential African American politician and businessman, and the North Church, which was a stop on the Underground Railroad.

The Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail is designed to educate visitors about the important contributions of African Americans to the city's history and culture, and to promote greater understanding and appreciation of the diversity of the community. The trail is open year-round, and visitors can pick up a map and guide at the Discover Portsmouth Center or download it from the trail's website.
