DIEGO SEPULVEDA ADOBE

The Diego Sepulveda Adobe is an historic adobe building located in Costa Mesa, California. Located near the intersection of Fairview and 19th Streets, the building is a significant landmark of the early settlement of the area. Built in the late 1860s, it is the oldest remaining structure in the city.

The adobe is a one-story, rectangular structure, built using traditional adobe construction techniques. The walls are made of sun-dried mud bricks, reinforced with wooden beams and covered with a stucco finish. The adobe is topped with a gable roof covered with terracotta tiles. The main entrance is located in the center of the building and is framed with a wooden door and a small window.

In 1985, the adobe was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated as a Costa Mesa Historic Landmark in 2006. The building is currently owned by the City of Costa Mesa and is used for public meetings and special events. The adobe is maintained by the city and is open to visitors for tours.
