The Barbour Cook Geology Museum in Chadron, Nebraska is a unique collection of minerals and fossils from around the world. It is located on the Chadron State College campus and is part of the Department of Natural and Physical Sciences. The museum was established in 1963 by Dr. Barbour Cook, a professor at the college. It is the only museum in Nebraska devoted exclusively to geology and is home to a variety of specimens and displays.

The Barbour Cook Geology Museum holds an extensive collection of minerals and fossils from all over the world. Visitors can view specimens from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The museum also houses an impressive collection of fossilized dinosaur bones, including an almost complete skeleton of a Triceratops. The collection also includes a variety of petrified wood, meteorites, and gemstones.

In addition to viewing the collections, visitors can learn about the history of geology and the different types of rocks and minerals. Educational programs and exhibits are available for all ages. The museum also hosts a variety of special events, including lectures, field trips, and workshops.

The Barbour Cook Geology Museum is open to the public and is free of charge. It is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Visitors can also take guided tours of the museum and its collections, offered throughout the year.
