The Mineral Creek Historical Society of Leeton, Missouri, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and celebration of the rich history of Leeton and the surrounding area. Road to Ruin Along a small gravel road a few miles outside of town, a handful of us gathered to watch the Big Boy take the surprisingly steep downhill grade out of Centerview. A local farmer even joined in, bringing his tractor over - which the train crew called out something about blue smoke on the radio shortly after passing, even. The crowds this train brings and the things you find when chasing it, you just never know... nor do you know the roads you'll end up on. Maybe all the gravel it took this trip is why it gave me a hard time a few weeks later.
