Half a VW at the Lucky Rabbit As I made my photo walk around Hattiesburg, I noticed this neat store, but it's only open on Saturdays and Sundays. I guess I'd called it a quirky antique store, but it's hard to say when you can only look on the outside. The half of a Volkswagen Beetle is certainly attention-getting.

I think the easiest part to read is on the left where I see Smoking and &quot;Standard of the World.&quot; I believe this is a Bull Durham Tobacco ad. On the right, I see &quot;Shoes.&quot; At one time, I suspect this building was taller and we only see the lower portion now.

National Bank of Commerce - Hattiesburg, MS The rest of the building is long gone, but the front façade remains. At the top are dates of 1895 and 1907.

Lamar County Courthouse (New) - Purvis, MS For a modern courthouse, this one built in 1998 has better than average interestingness.

The Spike that Binds This sculpture is a life-sized man made entirely out of railroad spikes. It's located at the Hattiesburg, MS train station and was unveiled by artist Jason Kimes in 2010 as part of the stations centennial celebration.
