McGrath Historical Committee Inc. is a non-profit organization located in McGrath, Minnesota. The organization is dedicated to preserving the history of McGrath, Minnesota and the surrounding area. Sandhill Cranes These impressive birds that I had never seen before were near the road in a field west of Finlayson, Minnesota. I think the two on the right are juveniles as I do not see the red face markings that are typical of adults. I took the photo through an open car window as I did not want to drive them away by getting out of the car. They were eating with their heads in the grass. I revved up the car engine to make them show their heads. Taken in early morning light.

Cloudy Aurora Back to the location where I captured the great solstice aurora. This time we did not have great activity and were hampered by the pending storms when the clouds rolled in.
