The Great Lakes Planetarium Association (GLPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting astronomy and space science education. It is based in East Lansing, Michigan, and serves planetariums and science centers throughout the Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada.

The GLPA was founded in 1964 and has since grown into one of the largest regional planetarium associations in the world. Its mission is to support and advance the field of planetarium education by providing professional development opportunities, promoting best practices, and fostering collaboration among its members.

GLPA members include planetarium directors, educators, technicians, and enthusiasts from institutions such as museums, universities, and public schools. The association hosts an annual conference, where members can attend workshops, presentations, and networking events.

In addition to its conference, the GLPA publishes a quarterly newsletter and maintains an online directory of member institutions. It also offers grants and scholarships to support research, education, and outreach projects related to planetariums and astronomy.

Through its programs and services, the GLPA plays an important role in promoting science literacy and inspiring a love of space among people of all ages in the Great Lakes region and beyond.

Dominic Bloomfield The second hour of Sunday's program was devoted to a showcase for students whose musical studies are supported, in part, by scholarships provided by the Southeast Michigan Bluegrass Music Association. Dominic's studying fiddle with Brittany Haas. He was accompanied at Woldumar by Dave Dowling, who runs the SMBMA's scholarship program. The Moon Cabin This log cabin dates from the early 1860s. It housed the Moon family, and Lansing architect Darius Moon grew up in this home. The structures he built were, of course, <a href="https://discover.hubpages.com/education/The-Daring-Darius-Moon-mid-Michigans-Forgotten-Genius" rel="noreferrer nofollow">rather more fancy</a>. The cabin was north of where I worked when I moved to the Lansing area.
