RANCHO GUAJOME ADOBE

Rancho Guajome Adobe is a historic hacienda located in Vista, California. It was originally built by Cave Johnson Couts in 1853 as his family home and hacienda. The adobe is built in a Spanish Colonial Revival style, with a courtyard and two-story main house. The house is surrounded by lush gardens and lush trees, including eucalyptus, citrus and pepper trees. The adobe is made of adobe brick and is U-shaped with a flat roof. The interior of the house has been restored to its original 19th-century decor and includes period furnishings, antiques, and artifacts.
The adobe is now a museum and a National Historic Landmark. It is open to the public for tours, special events, and educational programs. The museum features a variety of historical artifacts, documents, and photographs that tell the story of the Couts family, the history of the adobe and its surroundings, and the history of Rancho Guajome. There are also hands-on activities and demonstrations such as candle-making and weaving.
The site also features a variety of outdoor activities, such as walking trails, picnic areas, and a playground. The gardens, which were originally created by Cave Johnson Couts, are still in use and feature a variety of plants and trees.
