Extreme brightness of morning sun just north of east Around the spring equinox on March 21 at 43 degrees north latitude the sunrise is around the east-west line of this city street, blinding the drivers facing the solar giant. But now on April 21 the sun's position in the morning is a few points of the compass more to the north of east, though still powerfully glaring on the smooth asphalt. Makers of food and drink - sample day at the grocery store Today the parking lot was particularly full and the covered space usually chock-a-block with gardening supplies and all manner of flowering and vegetable garden seedlings is now filled with people with curious tastebuds. Spring glory of big pear tree in blossom Driving, biking, or walking the city streets or on rural roads this time of year it is hard not to notice the explosions of trees in blossom once the spring season is well under way. While many deciduous trees spread pollen in modest flowers, some of the decorative ones use the opposite strategy to get the attention of pollinators, rather than to let the wind do the work of making seeds for the trees to drop.
