The Ashfield Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit historical organization that was founded in 1979 to preserve and promote the history of the town of Ashfield, Massachusetts. Located in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, Ashfield is a small town of about 2,000 people in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. The Society works to preserve and protect the town’s heritage, artifacts, and archives through research, education, and exhibitions. The Society’s mission is to “encourage and foster an appreciation of our past and promote an understanding of our present.”

The Society’s archives contain a collection of over 1,000 items, including photographs, documents, and books. The Society also operates a museum that contains a variety of artifacts and exhibits including furniture, tools, and clothing from the town’s earliest inhabitants.
