The East Blackstone Quaker Meeting House & Cemetery Historical is a historic site located in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The meeting house was built in 1821 by the local Quaker community and served as a place of worship for over a century. The building's architecture is simple and modest, reflecting the Quaker principles of simplicity and humility.
The adjacent cemetery contains the graves of many early Quaker settlers, including members of the Whiting family, who were prominent in the community. The cemetery remains an active burial ground, with new interments still taking place today.
In addition to its religious significance, the East Blackstone Quaker Meeting House played a role in the abolitionist movement. The Quaker community was known for their opposition to slavery, and the meeting house was a gathering place for anti-slavery activists.
