PIERCE HOUSE

Pierce House, located in Dorchester, Massachusetts, is a historic colonial-style home, built in 1683 by Deacon John Pierce. It is one of the oldest houses in the entire state. The two-story house is constructed of wood frame with a gambrel roof and clapboard siding.
The first floor features a large central hall with two parlors on either side, and the second floor features four bedrooms. The house is decorated with period furniture, including a four-post bed, a spinning wheel, and a loom.
The building has been painstakingly restored with the help of the Dorchester Historical Society, and is open to the public for tours. The Pierce House also serves as a museum, with exhibits on the history of Dorchester and the Pierce family.
The house has been the site of many historic events, including the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence in Massachusetts in 1776. It has also been the home of several prominent Dorchester citizens, including Deacon John Pierce and Reverend Joshua Gee.
Pierce House is a beautiful example of colonial architecture and history, and is a popular destination for both tourists and locals. Visitors can explore the house and its exhibits, learning about the history of the area and its inhabitants.
