Old Bowie County Jail (Boston, Texas) Historic Bowie County Jail in Boston, Texas. The old jail was built 1890-91 and remained in use until 1984. The jail is located on the old courthouse square. The historic courthouse was destroyed by fire in 1987.

The old courthouse and jail were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 (NRHP No. 77001429). The missing courthouse was later delisted in 1998. The courthouse and jail buildings were designated as a State Antiquities Landmark in 1981 (the courthouse square and jail retain the SAL designation).
