Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) is located in Wells, Maine. It is a protected area of the Gulf of Maine estuary, encompassing more than 9,000 acres of salt marsh, tidal flats, and upland habitats. The reserve is home to numerous species of plants and animals, including several rare and endangered species.
