MAYHOUSE LIVING HISTORY MUSEUM

PRESTONSBURG, KY

Down in Dawkins Having successfully shot at Bobbs, the race to Dawkins was a narrow one to say the least. I knew the train had a bit of a winding route, plus a yard at Paintsville to go through. My advantage was having a shortcut between the eastern portion of Paintsville and West Van Lear. It was quite the sprint, but it was the perfect amount of time for me to make it to the crossover at Dawkins. Hardly a minute after I had parked, and CSX M652 came rounding the corner. That was to be my last sighting of the train and the farthest south I'd go on this venture, and a little blip on the radio suggested I had one last northbound to shoot - but that's for another time, and instead we move on to something a little different!
