MARY TODD LINCOLN HOUSE

Lexington Financial Center, Main Street and Mill Street, Lexington, KY Built in 1987, this Postmodern-style skyscraper was designed by Sherman Carter Barnhart for the Webb Companies to serve as the headquarters of the Webb Companies, as well as a commercial office building.  The building is the tallest building in Lexington, standing 31 stories and 410 feet (125 meters) tall.  The building features a blue-tinted glass exterior, an octagonal footprint, a trapezoid-shaped roof, and a plaza around the base.  The building today houses the Lexington offices of Fifth Third Bank, among other office tenants.

The Mary Todd Lincoln House in Lexington, Kentucky is a historic house museum dedicated to the life of Mary Todd Lincoln, the wife of President Abraham Lincoln. Located in downtown Lexington, the house was built in 1803 and is the only house in the United States associated with the first lady.

The house was purchased by the Mary Todd Lincoln House Foundation in 1977 and is now open to the public for tours. The house is filled with original artifacts from the time period, including furniture, clothing, and documents from the Lincoln family.

Visitors to the museum can explore the house and learn about Mary’s upbringing, her life in Lexington, her marriage to Abraham Lincoln, and her time in the White House. The museum also features interactive exhibits and events, such as lectures and educational programs.

In addition to the house, the museum also includes a gift shop and a research library. The library is open to the public and contains a collection of books, periodicals, and other materials related to the Lincoln family.
